Diabetics at Whataburger

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

The place is authentic and awesome. We get the shawarma sandwiches to go all the time. For eat in try a sampler platter. Vegetarian friendly, not that that matters to me. Family owned and operated.

If i lived in Grant's Pass i would probably come here a lot for gyros to-go. Super authentic and yummy and the owners are really nice.

The best soup, grape leaves, hummus, beautiful lamb . Just walking in the door is a treat with all the great smells. Don't forget a piece of baklava . It is a small homey restaurant where the owners will treat you like family! .

The food is good. I always get the m1 lamb and onion shawarma. It consistently tastes the same since the day one I visited this place while back when I was in college which is a good sign for the business. My only complain is that the men's restroom has no hand soap. The soap dispenser handle is broken, so no soap coming out to wash hands. That's why I can't give them a 5 stars rating.

First of all. I like ethnic food more than American food...which might beg the question, why do I live in Rogue River, OR. Secondly I enjoy familial businesses where an establishment is being operated by the owner/s or family, and they treat me in a friendly familial type way. I reside here in Southen Oregon which is filled with fast food, American style diners, Applebee's, Denny's, Della's, Red Robin, Olive Garden, etc..bad American Chinese, steakhouses that can't cook steak, take and bake pizza, 100 Mexican restaurants who's menus all read and taste roughly the same, and so on... Then you have the occasional diamond in the rough like aptly named Abu's Oasis Deli. Let me tell you, I love Abu's Oasis deli. Adam and Ellie, the owners, one Greek the other Lebanese. They own and operate one of the best dining establishments in Grants Pass. The decour is nothing spectacular...they'd get more customers if they fancied the place up some and also if they served alcohol, which I don't think they do. I don't drink so it doesn't really matter to me. I am happy enough with the way the place looks. It is a "deli" after all. I usually sit outside under an umbrella in a small outdoor seating area on the sidewalk/curb so I can smoke a cigarillo while I sip my Turkish coffee...News and Smokes is right next door. I like that they have a small selection of grocery type items and I have purchased some pomegranate juice and current juice and cherry juice from Lebanon I believe...so delicious. Whenever I come in they greet me with a smile and friendly conversation. I've been coming here long enough they know me by name and my preferences. I usually order a spicy lamb shawarma combo plate that comes with a small side Greek salad, tabbouleh, saffron rice with toasted almond, pita, and seared meat with onion and seasoning, so good. I also order a side of baba ghanoush and Turkish coffee. The bill including tip is around twenty dollars so I don't come in as often as I would like, only because I don't make the big bucks...otherwise I would eat here all the time. If you come for dinner, come somewhat early. I believe they close early. Enjoy.

Decent strip center no frills greek deli style food. If you like looking at cardboard storage boxes, and a minimally stocked canned groceria, then this is your place. The food isn't wonderful, but it's good, and fairly priced. These folks just need to organize the place a little and maybe spend a week's profit on some decor, and it could be really nice. I enjoyed a lamb dish that was very good.

Ordered the falafel pita sandwich and a large greek salad to go. The salad (cucumbers, olives, feta, tomato) was swimming in oil that leaked out of the styrofoam carton and onto my jeans :( and was not worth $11. The falafel was just a crumbly mess. About $19 for the two. The restaurant looks filthy (random stuff on the shelves, like the ish you store in your garage). The bathroom was old and dirty and used for storage. I love hole in the walls and food trucks, but for goodness sake work on the ambiance just a little. I won't be back.

Great food for lunch. I had the chicken and onion shawarma. It was about $10, came with tabouli, some veggies and green olives, freshly made pita and delicious flavored rice. The pita was warm and soft, very clearly homemade and delicious. The rice was perfectly flavored, as were the grilled chicken and onions. The ambiance was quite casual, as other reviews have mentioned, this place is a deli, meant more for carry out. They do have a few tables though and it's an order at the counter kind of place. As far as good, cheap food, this place is great. The tea options on the menu looked pretty interesting. When I go back, I'm hoping to try some!

Chicken shawarma is the best food I have ever had. I eat here at least once a week. Great food and great people.

I love the Greek salad, one of the best I've ever had. About $11 for a large portion.

This was my first stop in my plan to visit a new restaurant or eat a new dish every Friday lunch. I ordered the chicken shawarma, and it was even better than the other reviews led me to expect. I have never had shawarma before, but the chicken and vegetables and sauce were so delicious with the soft pita bread that I might have to be even more adventurous in the future and try the lamb! Tabouli was also new to me, and it was also very good.

LOVE This place. This is one of my absolute go to places to eat, when I'm in the area visiting. Their shwarmas are fabulous, baklava is very tasty and the owners are super sweet, dormas are fresh and warm.

Of course there are rare times when you find a place so exacting, so culturally bound that you are struck by the fact that here you are in Oregon, eating food that feels like a million miles away. This is that place. For hummus, for halva and for the love of great cuisine make this a place to pickup a fantastic bite.

Just stopped here based on yelp reviews as a quick lunch spot off the I-5 and it was great! Delicious chicken schwarma wrap, nice people.

I've frequented Abu's for at least the last 15+ years and I have always been very pleased with the food and service. One of my top 3 choices in the Rogue Valley. This is the first place I tried hummus, way back before people knew what it was and you could find it in the grocery store. It is still my favorite. As a vegetarian, there is a great selection (we usually get a sampler platter), but my husband, who spent almost 2 years in the Middle East, loves the lamb. The owners are friendly and the food is authentic. The Labanese coffee is a special treat. Highly recommend.

Cheap, quick and marvelous food in a deli setting. I am especially fond of their lamb gyros, baba ganoush, and almond rice. Of all the food I've tried there over the years, only the falafel was less than great. Baklava is always perfect to fill in the cracks after lunch. And to take your meal to the next level, order the sweet anise tea. The staff are friendly. They welcome the chaos when I bring my two young kids, and ask after the kids when I come alone. My biggest complaint: wish they were open later, and on weekends.

Shawarma (Shwar-Ma) One word you should know. They also refer to it as a chicken pocket. This delight reminds me of fairs for some reason. Abu's has ruined me for all other shawarma. I took a trip to Denver and tried what Westword billed as Denver's best sharwarma...I was shocked not even close to Abu's. Mom and pop are from Lebanon. They run the joint and you can taste the love. $7.95 get's me a root beer and a chicken shawarma extra spicy with tabouli or rice. In Grants Pass it's one of my favorite meals under ten bucks. While I wait I shop through the eclectic foods they import form overseas; saffron, real pomegranate syrup and exotic pickled things. I often get a strange drink from the cooler. After my meal I grab a nibblet of homemade baklava or some halva and leave smiling. I'm proud that in such a backwoods community we have this ethnic gem. The owners aren't Muslim and I don't think most customers know that the nice carpets for sale on the wall are prayer rugs. *Pro Tip* Abu's Often has the cheapest bulk Yerba Matte (Cruz De Malta) in town.

We've been going to Abu's for years and keep coming back. Their food is delicious and reasonably priced. I love their lamb shwarma and appreciate that they can make it as spicy as you'd like. The Greek salad is the best I've found in Southern Oregon, for sure. My vegetarian friends find a good selection, too. The owners are awesome and add to the experience of Abu's.

Their Middle Eastern menu is accompanied by a Mideast grocery store along the side wall of the place. I bought some "pomegranite molasses" there - it came in a little kechup bottle for $5, and was surprisingly good. But back to the food. There a number of Greek, Lebanese, etc. dishes on the menu. Theres also the sampler platters which are good for two people and have all kinds of different Mideast delicacies on them. They come with meat or in a vegetarian version. Good food, big portions, not too expensive.

this is good food. very good food. and the only greek restaurant i know of in g.p. the staff is friendly and there's all kinds of neat stuff to look at/buy. the ambiance isn't tops, but i don't think that's what they had in mind. IT'S A DELI! duh. anyhow. . .the gyro i ordered was very tasty. the meat was delicious and the condiments were perfect. seriously, soooo good. my complaint on the gyro. not enough meat, what i had was great though. the tabouleh was just like you would hope, nothing weird, but nothing over the top original. original is not always a good thing (see my torchy's tacos review), and i don't think abu is striving for "orginal". no, they go for authentic. three other complaints: 1) they charge for refills. what is this 1986? do you know how much actual product goes into a glass of fountain soda? me neither, but i know it's super cheap. 2) pita bread is nearly crispy, instead of warm and foldy(is this a word?). i prefer to not have a bit of a crunch with pita, unless it's pita chips i'm eating. 3) and this might seem snobby, BUT. . .i got a bad feeling in my got when my eye spied the microwave your uncle jeb has had since before reagan - you know the one he warms up his fancy feast hungry man in? - yeah that one. i saw it in the kitchen of abu's almost turned around. call me a snob but i don't want nuked food. especially from a microwave that runs on plutonium.

Excellent food. We had the lamb and onion shawarmas, Greek salad and hummus - all very flavorful. We were just driving through Grants Pass. Next time we'll adjust our journey to make sure we can stop here for another meal.

Was in town visiting the in-laws and was really happy to come across this listing online. I would've been fine eating the vegetarian options but the father-in-law suggested I give them a call and find out about whether their meat was halal or kosher. A fellow answered the phone and when I asked him if it was halal there was a pause then with a serious attitude he answered, "Uh. . . NO." I then asked him if it was kosher he curtly said, "I gotta go" and hung up the phone on me. I can't even imagine what the service is like in person. I hope this was a fluke but I sure as hell am not going to be patronizing this place. Ridiculous!

Huge fan of this restaurant. Love the food and I know they pride themselves on the quality of their food. They have the best baklava I've ever had, hummus is warm and smooth. Never had a bad meal. I wish they had a better location and could offer more parking, but that doesn't stop me from going.

One of my most favourite restaurants in Grants Pass! The people are super friendly, the food is to die for, and on top of that they carry a variety of middle eastern groceries! Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

For Grants Pass (and most of Southern Oregon), it gets a 5-star from me. I love lamb, so this is a great place in S. Oregon/N. Cal. Excellent homemade gyros made on-site, and a bunch of excellent platters for sharing Greek food with newbies. The place is about 1/2 mile down 7th Street where it exits of the north end of Hwy. 5 at Grants Pass (GP only has two exits, N. and S.). It's in a small plaza on the right-hand side of 7th Street, right past the "bend" in the road that heads down into the downtown area. It's called the "Village Plaza" and includes a "News and Smoke Shop" and another excellent restaraunt named "Orchid's", which is a Hawaiian barbecue, which is also on my 'recommended' list.

Abu's has excellent service and the food is quite good. It can be a challenge to find ethnic food in Grants Pass at all. You can find some interesting ingredients to take home from their deli and grocery. I usually get the Felafel or Gyro which is served in a lunch special with Tabbouleh or Rice. There is always Middle Eastern music playing, which adds even more variety to eating out.

We happened to find Abu's by accident! And had a great experience here. Food was very good, as was the service. We will definitely be back!

This was a nice surprise on our way through town. Decent Greek food for a reasonable price. I wouldn't call it the best by any stretch, but it certainly does the trick if you're craving a gyro. Closed weekends.
